Jean-Michel Jarre makes his Ibiza debut at Amnesia's 50th Anniversary

On Sunday 5th July, we welcomed Jean-Michel Jarre at Amnesia for his very first live performance in Ibiza. The early evening brought together three remarkable milestones: Jarre's long-awaited Ibiza debut, the 50th anniversary of Oxygène—the groundbreaking album that helped redefine electronic music—and Amnesia's 50th anniversary, celebrating our defining role in dance music culture for five decades.
Bringing one of electronic music's greatest visionaries to the island for the first time felt like a natural way to celebrate a shared legacy of innovation, creativity and musical exploration.

Across a captivating 90-minute live performance, Jarre revisited some of the most influential works of his career, including reimagined versions of Oxygène, Équinoxe, Magnetic Fields and Rendez-Vous, alongside more recent compositions such as Oxymore, The Architect and Exit. Rather than recreating the originals, the show presented them through a contemporary lens, blending analogue heritage with cutting-edge technology.
Immersive lasers, striking lighting design and retro-futuristic visuals accompanied every moment, reflecting the philosophy that has defined Jarre's work for over five decades: using technology not simply as spectacle, but as a creative language capable of bringing people together through music.
The evening began with performances from Joplyn and Les Schmitz, before Jarre took over the Terrace for a show that united generations on the dancefloor. Long-time fans revisited the soundtrack of their lives, while younger audiences experienced one of electronic music's founding pioneers inside one of Ibiza's most iconic clubs.
Following the live performance, Pyramid residents carried the energy into the early hours, seamlessly connecting this unique anniversary event with one of Amnesia's Sunday traditions.
