Grace Jones Celebrates Amnesia's 50th Anniversary at Glitterbox

Neither Grace Jones nor Amnesia became icons by following the rules. They became icons by giving people permission to break them.

Taking to the stage during Glitterbox, Jones brought together two worlds united by the same values: freedom and fearless self-expression. Long before dancefloors became places of inclusion and celebration, both Grace Jones and Amnesia were already helping to shape that culture throughout the 1980s.

Few artists have challenged convention quite like Grace Jones. Across a career spanning more than four decades, she has continuously blurred the boundaries between music, fashion and performance. Her unmistakable fusion of disco, reggae, funk, new wave and art-pop has inspired generations of musicians, designers and performers, while her visual identity became every bit as influential as her music.

Her performance on Friday 24th of July, unfolded as a series of transformations. Every song introduced a new look, turning the Terrace into an iconic experience where music, fashion and performance became inseparable. Throughout the show, Grace Jones reminded the audience why she remains one of the most distinctive and influential cultural figures of the last half-century.

The audience was taken through some of her most celebrated works, including "Slave to the Rhythm," "My Jamaican Guy" and "Pull Up to the Bumper"—timeless songs that continue to resonate across generations and dancefloors around the world.
